The story behind this series is based on one of the current contradictions in today’s society. The boundary between social sharing or being visible but vulnerable… Or the safe privacy by staying in the wings as a gray mouse.
Individuals like to show their grace, beauty, ego. And on the other hand, people often want to keep the deeper self hidden.
With this I also want to express a personal internal struggle. On the one hand, the introvert who indulges in the safe studio, and on the other hand, the extroverted need to stay in the spotlight.

How far will someone go to show all or nothing? Perhaps it will remain more interesting if a part remains gray and mysterious? And can you switch between these two? The game of evolving impressions by changing the viewing angles as a spectator.

I love the contradiction between a “digitally created” social media world, and the universal, analog beauty. The basis of analog (often black and white) poses of the models is digitally remixed. By combining new material & technique (plexi & 3D) with classic oil or acrylic painting, I want to create a more contemporary “mixed media work”. By expressing the substantive theme in a modern way, each piece of work can captivate on multiple levels.
